Prof. Kang Hyoung-jin at SNUH Who Goes to UAE to Check the Patient with Childhood Cancer

There is a doctor who travels halfway around the world and goes to UAE (United Arab Emirates) because of a patient treated in Korea. The doctor is Kang Hyoung-jin at Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine of SNUH (Seoul National University Hospital). Prof. Kang goes to UAE to meet Maryam Al Teneiji who underwent chemo therapy with acute leukemia from 2015 until recently.

In 2015, Maryam who diagnosed with acute leukemia in UAE was hospitalized in September in Children’s Hospital of SNUH. Afterward, she successfully finished chemo therapy for one and a half years and went back to UAE.

Prof. Kang wonders whether she is doing well and goes to UAE. It is possible because the Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital is operated based on consignment from SNUH.

He conducted a special checkup to Maryam and her family at the Khalifa Specialty Hospital for a week from 23rd January. They appreciated his kindness.

He said “the schedule was so tight, but I was pleased to see her smiling face. I want them to know Korea has affection for patients as well as advanced technology. I hope many patients with childhood cancer in the Middle East are completely cured through co-treatment with Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine of SNUH and the Khalifa Specialty Hospital. ”
