Merz Aesthetics launched its Ulthera Asia-Pacific campaign featuring three star-studded Korean actors as ambassadors to promote the pursuit of individual beauty with the aesthetic lifting device on Thursday evening at Sebitseom Convention Center in Seoul.
Merz Aesthetics Ulthera is a U.S. FDA-approved visible ultrasound lifting device that delivers focused ultrasound energy to the deeper layers of the skin non-invasively.
The device stimulates the body’s natural response to the growth of new collagen and strengthens weak collagen. This device was released in Korea in 2009 for tightening and lifting the skin on the face, neck, and chest.
Currently, it is used in more than 80 countries around the world and has proven its effectiveness through more than 50 clinical studies, Merz Aesthetics said.
The See My Skin, Lift My Way campaign is designed to help people maintain the most natural and confident condition considering their skin condition and needs through technology that allows them to directly access the lower layers of skin to make personalized treatment plans, said a Merz Aesthetics official.
Lee Min-ho, Kim Ha-neul, and Jeon So-min, who were selected as new ambassadors for Ulthera, will encourage others to be self-confident and define their own beauty through their social media platforms and offline meetings for Asia-Pacific countries excluding Australia.
Lee defined beauty as a natural concept, something that isn’t forced and shines best when it is not covered or manipulated in any way.
Meanwhile, Merz Aesthetics Korea is also launching the Beautiful Promise campaign to build a healthy medical culture and consumer awareness that is not devoted to uniform beauty.
On this note, Lee remarked, “It’s important to be set free of the fixed beauty standards by first loving yourself and using this as a starting point to help unlock one’s confidence to find your unique attractiveness.”
Merz Aesthetics Asia-Pacific President Lawrence Siow said distorted appearance images were flooding social media creating unrealistic beauty standards and that celebrities also faced mounting pressure to meet these standards.
“We hope the message shared today by our Ulthera ambassadors will inspire many to challenge these beauty standards spread by social media,” he said.
Jeon emphasized that building Ulthera into a skincare regime from as early as possible can help slow down the skin’s aging process and also stressed the importance of sunscreen in this regard.
“I started using Ulthera annually five years ago so this ambassadorship is very meaningful to me,” Jeon revealed. “I also have very sensitive skin so I prefer not to receive too many prescription treatments, but I can personally attest to Ulthera’s safety and efficacy.”
Also sharing her thoughts on the device, Kim said, “As the aging population grows in Asia, I think skincare is becoming more important and I believe this device gives my skin the elasticity boost it needs.”
She added that when filming, she tries to carve out time for relaxing to think positively and calm her nerves so she can mentally and psychologically recharge between her hectic schedules.
