Over the past 25 years, the Korean Doctors’ Weekly has been a pioneer in Korea’s healthcare journalism. I congratulate the first issue of its English version focusing on Korea’s advanced medical system and healthcare field for people all over the world.

The Korean Doctors’ Weekly has predicted the rapid-changing healthcare environment ahead of other media outlets and provided objective and fair information on medical issues. Because of the effort, the weekly has positioned itself as the newspaper specializing in healthcare sector and gained trust from healthcare and medical service community. Now, it is releasing the first issue of the “Korea Biomedical Review (KBR),” an English Internet media outlet specializing in healthcare industry.

Recently, the South Korean economy and politics have been in trouble. Economic outlook is also gloomy. Under the situation, high quality medical services and healthcare field have caught people’s attentions as a new boost for economic development.

The company shows an ambitious plan to extend the healthcare field to foreign markets with the English newspaper that deals with the field for the first time in Korea. I think many related people will keep their eyes on it. And also, I hope to confirm the news that the healthcare field plays a leading role to increase Korean competitive edge.

I have high expectation because <Korea Biomedical Review (KBR)> can provide the ways that the Korean economy and the healthcare field will take.

There might be difficulties, but I hope many people can get valuable information and analysis with a broad vision of developing healthcare area and improving national competitive edge from KBR.
