Noom and Roche Diagnostics said Thursday that they are recruiting 60 diabetes patients to participate in their lifestyle improvement program.

Participants will receive the Accu-Chek Personal Blood Glucose Monitoring System of Roche Diagnostics Korea and Noom Coach, a mobile diabetes management program developed by Noom _눔, for 12 weeks.

The goal of this campaign is to improve the health of the participants by correcting their diet and exercise, which is most important for managing diabetes.

Accu-Chek is a personal blood glucose measuring system sold by Roche Diagnostics _로슈진단. It is easy to carry around as it is small and easy to run diagnostics with a small amount of blood.

Noom Check is the first mobile program to be officially certified by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Diabetes Prevention Program. Doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and clinical psychologists participated in the development of the program. The program operators report that 79.9 percent of users have lost weight after actively participating in the program.

“The company hopes through the free Noom Coach program, an officially certified program by the U.S. Governmental agencies, will improve the health of domestic diabetic patients,” said Jung Soo-duk _정수덕, general director of Noom Korea.

Patients using the Accum-Chek blood glucose meter and Noom Coach together will be able to see their diabetes improve quickly, he added.

The application for the experience group is possible from Oct. 16 and finish after recruiting 60 applicants. They will select applicants through the lottery at the Accu-Chek’s official web page and announce the results to the winners separately.
