Vantage Galan 3T

Toshiba Medical said Monday that Hongik Hospital has become the first medical institution outside of Japan to introduce the Vantage Galan 3T, an MRI device.

Vantage Galan 3T is the newest MRI developed by the company that drastically reduced noise, the biggest stress factor in MRI imaging, compared to other conventional MRI equipment. The device also features a 71-centimeter-wide examination tube, which increases the patient’s convenience, as well as providing Toshiba's non-contrast imaging technique.

“The hospital is proud to introduce the first domestic Vantage Galan 3T unit,” said Lah Ki-hyeok, director of Hongik Hospital. “The comfort of the patient is the top priority at the hospital, and our institution expects that Toshiba Medical’s device will meet the hospital’s expectations.”

Also, with cerebrovascular disease increasing in various age groups, the hospital expects that patients will be able to get fast and accurate tests with the new device, Lah added.

Hongik Hospital, which opened in 1972, has 530 employees, including 74 doctors, and provides treatment for 19 medical subjects.
