Access Bio said Friday that it has signed an agreement with Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PFSCM) to supply the company’s malaria rapid diagnostics test (RDT) kit to Uganda. PFSCM is a U.S. nonprofit organization providing global procurement and distribution services to low- and middle-income countries.

Under the accord, Access Bio will supply 5.8 billion won ($5.3 million) worth of malaria RDT kits, which is equivalent to 17.9 percent of the company’s sales in 2016.

The company is also working hard to expand its product portfolio by signing a partnership with the Ugandan government for the screening of G6PD deficiency last Tuesday.

“We will continue to work with PFSCM and expect to supply public health products to various countries in the future,” a company official said. “The company also expects to see continued growth in malaria RDT orders this year.”

Access Bio has been expanding its market share in the malaria RDT market by winning PFSCM’s bids for Tanzania, Ghana, Republic of Congo and Uganda.
