The Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) 2018 is set to open its four-day run in COEX, southern Seoul, on March 15.

Hosted by the Korea Medical Devices Industrial Cooperation Association (KMDICA), Korea Medical Industry Association (KMDIA) and Korea E&EX, KIMES meets its 34th anniversary promoting public health and medical technology development as well as vitalizing medical and hospital-related industries.

The exhibition will involve 1,313 companies from 34 countries and exhibit more than 30,000 products, such as advanced medical and hospital equipment, medical information system, healthcare rehabilitation equipment and medical care goods.

Among major corporate participants are GE Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, Samsung Medison, Philips, SG Healthcare and DK Medical, which will exhibit their products at the fair.

KIMES 2018 will also show exhibit robotic medical devices, which have recently attracted attention in the global medical market, by running two special fairs -- rehabilitation robot and 3D printing.

Organizers expect to attract more than 79,000 people this year, including medical professionals, and officials representing domestic and international medical associations, who will also participate in seminars and conferences.

They also expect to reaffirm the excellence of domestic products by conducting business negotiations worth 2 trillion won ($1.8 billion) for domestic sales and more than $570 million in export consultations.

Opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibition will also be open on Saturday and Sunday for medical workers working outside of Seoul. Admission fee is 10,000 won, but visitors can pre-register for free on the KIMES website until March 13.
