Three government agencies said they would offer free education programs for 80 to 100 medical and bio startups seeking to go abroad. Startups can apply from Thursday to March 21.

The Korea Research-based Pharma Industry Association (KRPIA), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) launched their “Global Pharmaceutical and Startup Co-Incubating Platform” to foster and support domestic medical and biopharmaceutical startups that seek to enter foreign markets.

Possible beneficiaries include promising medical and bio-startups, which lack resources and experience in complex licensing and clinical trial processes when going abroad.

The programs will be comprised of five sessions, including medical products and medical devices, attracting investment, marketing, and open innovation. The capacity-building programs, run by professionals from global pharmaceutical companies, aim to enhance practical skills needed for global market entry, KRPIA said.

The programs will open at the Seoul Bio Hub in Hongneung, Seoul, from March 27 to April 17.
