Chonnam National University Hwasun Hosptial (CNUHH) is becoming a hot-attraction for international patients visiting Korea for medical treatment.
The hospital has already attracted more than 2,000 foreign patients after it opened the International Medical Center in 2011. CNUHH is also the first national university hospital to receive and recertify the JCI international certification, which verifies the hospital’s high standards for patient's safety and quality of medical care, the hospital said in a press release last Friday.
Also, no foreign patients have made any negative claims after treatment, it said. CNUHH also provides a feedback service free of charge if the patient sends their report after returning home, it added.
The hospital then cited the case of a Russian patient as an example.
“Whenever I visit CNUHH I feel like I am on vacation to heal my mind and body rather than to cure my illness,” said Tatiana Danilchenko, a Russian patient who visited CNUHH to treat her thyroid cancer. “My health is getting better, and the natural environment around the hospital is also beautiful making it a place that I want to visit regularly.”
Danilchenko received surgery for thyroid cancer from Professor Yoon Jung-han of the department of endocrinology in April 2015. Since then, she has visited CNUHH six more times to receive medical treatment.
“Although located far away from Incheon International Airport, the hospital’s environment, which is surrounded by mountains and forests, gave me peace of mind,” she said, stressing that friendly medical staff and state-of-the-art healthcare systems also gave her confidence.
Even after returning home, the hospital’s post-service was satisfying, the Russian said.
She added that such comfort was one of her main reasons for visiting the remote hospital.
"There are a lot of fake medicines in Russia,” Danilchenko said. “In Vladivostok, there is a high appreciation for Korea's advanced technology and medical care.”
Danilchenko stressed that she strongly recommends CNUHH to her acquaintances as it is a beautiful place with clean and charming natural environment.
