Gacheon University Gil Medical Center and Healcerion said Monday that they have developed the 3-in-1 wireless ultrasound device for the first time in the world.

Sonon 400S

The Sonon 400S ultrasound system, developed jointly by the two partners, features a 3-in-1 function that includes ultrasound diagnosis to the musculoskeletal, abdominal and cardiovascular ultrasound. The device is convenient and highly useable while allowing hospitals to transfer the acquired images to a personal PC or smartphone.

“We plan to continue our participation in research and development of a next-generation version of Sonon with Healcerion and work on global market development,” said Professor Jung Wook-jin, who led the clinical trial of the device at the hospital.

Healcerion CEO Ryu Jeong-won also said, "We are proud to be the first in the world to develop a 3-in-1 portable ultrasound technology that can be applied to many clinical situations by integrating three different ultrasound scan technologies into one ultrasound diagnostic system.”

The ultrasound system will serve as a stethoscope for emergencies, intensive care units and public health centers in developing countries that need to see multiple clinical applications at the same time, he added.

The company expects that Sonon 400S will have high sales potential soon as it has received regulated approval from related agencies.
