The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Friday that it has confirmed an additional coronavirus patient.

The seventh confirmed patient is a 28-year-old male who entered into Incheon International Airport from Wuhan, Hubei Province, via Qingdao, on Jan 23.

According to the KCDC, the patient is known to have started to cough on Sunday and showed cold symptoms on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the patient had more signs portraying a possible new coronavirus infection such as fever and severe coughing. The patient soon reported his symptoms to a nearby public health center. The authorities confirmed that the patient was infected with the new coronavirus later that day.

“The patient is currently quarantined at Seoul Medical Center and is receiving treatment,” the KCDC said.

The agency added that it is conducting an epidemiological investigation on the newly confirmed patient and will share the information with the public as soon as possible.
