Myongji Hospital executives and employees, now at the forefront of Korea’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, have released a music video as a cheering message for patients, medical workers, and all people around the world.

Produced by the hospital’s Coronavirus Blues Treatment Support Corps, the video features a theme song titled “Heal the World,” sung separately by all staff members of the hospital, from Chairman Lee Wang-jun on down, to doctors, nurses and employees at various other posts, and turned them into a chorus, the hospital said in a news release Friday.

Instead of gathering and singing in one place, the executives and employees filmed themselves singing at their homes or offices individually over the weekend. These videos were put together by the hospital’s public relations team after undergoing the process of mixing, mastering and editing, it said.

“Heal the world, making a better world with you and me together, a world where all of us become one without sadness and pain.” So starts the video and ends with all participants sending their respect and pride to all medical workers and health officials in Korea and the rest of the world, with a sign language of "#Thanks to you," by raising their right-hand thumb over the left palm.

Myongji Hospital delivered the video to infected nurses and self-isolated staff members receiving treatment in the negative pressure room and encouraged them. The hospital is playing the video in elevators and the front lobbies.

It is also uploaded on the hospital’s YouTube channel, sending a cheering message to patients, families, and medical staff and government officials who are fighting against Coviud-19.

“The video was made to cheer all medical workers and patients who were shocked by the infection,” said Lee So-young, the director of the hospital’s Arts and Healing Center. “I appreciate all medical workers, other staff, and their families participated in the video.”
