Providing varicella vaccine worth $60million for 2 years to Central and South America
No.1 of international organization procurement market share

Green Cross plans to export massive amounts of varicella vaccine and became No.1 in the international organization procurement market.

Green Cross said on the 3rd it won the contract to provide varicella vaccine (from 2017~2018) worth of about $60million (about 72.5billion won) in a bid hosted by PAHO (Pan American Health Organization).

Green Cross will provide 66% of the total orders placed by PAHO. The quota will be provided to Central and South American countries for 2 years until late 2018.

PAHO is the affiliate of the World Health Organization (WHO) and is one of two organizations along with UNICEF to purchase the most vaccines in the world.

In 1993, Green Cross developed the vaccine for the first time in Korea and became the second company to develop the product in the world. The vaccine has been exported to Central and South America and Asia etc. for about 2 decades.

CEO Huh Eun-chul said, “In an international organization bid market, we reaffirm overwhelming position of our products. It has great meaning to improve health standard of international society.”
