Prosecutors have raided GSK Korea’s vaccine division, an industry source said.

The source did not disclose the reason for the probe. However, rumors circulated that the latest move might stretch the prosecution’s investigation into an alleged price-fixing of GSK vaccines by partner firms.

In November, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office raided over 10 drug manufacturers and distributors suspected of forming an illegal cartel to rig bids in a government tender to procure drugs.

The companies under the probe included Kwangdong Pharmaceutical, and the drugmaker’s officials told the media that the investigation was on a vaccine against cervical cancer.

Korea Biomedical Review repeatedly contacted GSK Korea to confirm if the raid occurred, but the company remained silent.
