Korea University Ansan Hospital (KUAH) has won the highest grade in the acute stroke adequacy assessment for eight consecutive times.

The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service conducted evaluations on 26 items, including the composition of experts and the rate of brain imaging, for six months from July 2018 on medical institutions that have treated patients with acute periodic stroke.

KUAH scored a total of 100, which was higher than the overall average score of 92.45. The hospital was notably recognized for its excellent treatment of acute strokes. It won a perfect score on the brain imaging test rate and intravenous tissue-plasminogen activator (t-PA) dosage within an hour.

"KUAH is continuing its efforts for the patient's health by improving the emergency medical system and deploying professional personnel for 24 hours to treat and prevent stroke," Professor Jung Jin-man of the Department of Neurology at KUAH said. "Through consistent efforts, we could keep the first grade of acute stroke adequacy rating so far. This means that patients with stroke can receive quality treatment at KUAH."
