Vuno has agreed to install its AI system on Samsung Electronics’ ceiling-fixed digital X-ray system.

The contract follows a deal in June to supply Vuno Med Chest X-ray to Samsung Electronics' premium mobile digital X-ray imaging equipment, GM85.

Vuno and Samsung Electronics plan to expand the standard installation to ceiling models and sell it to major overseas markets in Korea and foreign markets, including Europe.

"Based on the company’s high degree of perfection, it could install VUNO Med-Chest X-ray on Samsung Electronics' two premium X-ray equipment," Vuno CEO Kim Hyun-joon said." We will continue to actively target the global market through close cooperation with global medical device companies, including Samsung Electronics."

Jang Woo-young, head of Samsung Electronics' digital radiography business team, also said, "This deal will allow Samsung Electronics to provide an advanced system that integrates AI technology into our key premium X-ray devices to markets worldwide."

The company will lead the global X-ray market with our distinctive technology, Jang added.

According to Vuno, the strength of VUNO Med-Chest X-ray is that it can be easily integrated into various X-ray equipment thanks to model weight reduction through computational optimization of AI algorithms.

Based on this, the system quickly checks the results analyzed by AI at the same time as X-rays are taken and enables rapid data processing in CPU environments as well as GPUs, which, in turn, allows medical institutions to use the system in various settings.

Vuno expects the global digital X-ray market to grow to $13.04 billion in 2023.
