Hospital group ties up with US medical information agency HIMSS
The Korean Hospital Association (KHA) has joined hands with the U.S. Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) to strengthen its digital healthcare capabilities.
KHA said it signed a business agreement with HIMSS for their joint growth and cooperation at Seoul Garden Hotel on Wednesday.
The association said the agreement aims at their digital conversion in the right direction by seeking substantive cooperation in various areas related to medical information.
Under the agreement, KHA and HIMSS will also cooperate in joint sponsoring of international academic conferences and their promotion, as well as holding the K-HOSPITAL FAIR, an international exposition of hospitals and healthcare.
“We expect this agreement with HIMSS to provide good opportunities for Korean hospitals to look out for global medical IT and convert themselves into digital healthcare correctly,” KHA Chair Yoon Dong-seop said.
HIMSS is a nonprofit established in the United States in 1961. It evaluates, verifies, and presents standards for informatizing medical institutions to improve healthcare quality and safety using medical information, data, and IT technology.
It holds a global conference in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific region in rotation. This year, it held a conference at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill., last month.
