This year marks the third installment of the campaign and will span one month around the Yeouido Hangang Park area, where Bayer Korea's headquarters is located.

Under the leadership of the Bayer Sustainability Ambassadors, a task force committed to embodying the company's dedication to sustainability, employees across various departments will engage in environmental cleanup activities at least once throughout the campaign period.

The initiative emphasizes the need for lifestyle changes that support environmental health, underscoring Bayer’s commitment to sustainability and societal well-being.

This year's theme for Earth Day, "Planet vs. Plastic," highlights the urgent need to address the plastic surge exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Bayer Korea has set up large monitors in the office to educate employees about the impact of disposable culture and encourage discussions on reducing plastic use in the workplace.

"The plogging campaign represents one of our key activities in tackling climate change, which is part of Bayer’s broader sustainable development goals,” Bayer Korea CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer Lee Jin-a said. “It allows every employee to actively participate in preserving the environment and to reflect on how these sustainability values can be integrated into our business practices."

Since relocating its offices in 2021, Bayer Korea has made significant strides toward establishing a green office environment. Efforts include replacing disposable cups with mugs and installing water purifiers to eliminate the use of bottled water.

Globally, Bayer is dedicated to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on responsible consumption and production, climate action, and the preservation of life below water.

The company aims to achieve a carbon-neutral footprint by 2030 and has been recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project with an A rating for its climate action efforts for six consecutive years.
