Samjin Pharm surpasses ₩100 million in medicine donations in H1
Samjin Pharmaceutical said Friday that its cumulative donations of essential medicines to underserved medical communities, domestically and abroad, surpassed 100 million won ($75 thousand) in the first half of this year.
The donated items primarily included the company's flagship antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug, Geworin (acetaminophen, isopropylantipyrine). Geworin is the second largest pain relief product on the market, following Tylenol, and is the top-selling brand in Korea.
These medicines have been distributed to underserved populations and free-of-charge healthcare clinics for foreign workers in Korea through domestic charities such as the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, Soul Love People, and Good News World.
Additionally, aid has been provided to regions affected by the recent Noto Peninsula earthquake in Japan, war-torn Ukraine, and areas with inadequate medical infrastructure, such as Myanmar, Cambodia, and Malawi.
“We hope that this donation of medicines will help many regions struggling with inadequate medical infrastructure,” said Choi Yong-ju, CEO of Samjin Pharmaceutical. ”We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by supporting vulnerable and marginalized groups through ongoing projects.”
