Neurophet, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered brain imaging solution developer, has elevated CTO Kim Dong-hyeon to co-CEO alongside CEO Been Jun-kil.

Kim co-founded Neurophet with Been in 2016 and has since served as the company’s chief technology officer for eight years.

Neurophet has elevated CTO Kim Dong-hyeon to the position of co-CEO to strengthen its AI brain imaging business.

Kim, who holds a master’s degree from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) School of Information and Communications and a Ph.D. from GIST’s School of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering, developed the next-generation neuro-navigation system that forms the foundation of Neurophet's technology.

Kim is an inventor with about 100 patents related to brain disease treatment, diagnosis, and analysis, and has authored numerous research papers published in SCI(E)-level international journals.

Recognized for his contributions to AI-based brain imaging analysis, Kim received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT in 2022. This year, he was appointed Sub-Chair of the AI Division under the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association’s Innovation Industry Committee.

The company stressed that appointing Kim as co-CEO reflects Neurophet's strategy to expand its business development efforts and strengthen its corporate management.

While Co-CEO Been will focus on global market expansion, Kim will oversee research and development (R&D) while actively participating in corporate operations.

The company stressed that this dual-leadership approach aims to bolster Neurophet’s growth as it gears up for a technology-specialized initial public offering (IPO) next year.

“With Neurophet's business gaining momentum, we aim to approach our goals more strategically,” new Co-CEO Kim said. “I will work closely with Co-CEO Been to steer Neurophet toward a brighter future.”
