CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center named among ‘Best Hospitals for Maternity Care’ by US News & World Report
CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (CHA HPMC), part of Korea-based CHA Health Systems, has been recognized as one of the “Best Hospitals for Maternity Care” by U.S. News & World Report.
The annual evaluation by U.S. News & World Report reviewed 871 hospitals across the U.S., assessing metrics such as cesarean delivery rates, severe neonatal complication rates, breastfeeding support, and childbirth-friendly policies. Approximately one-third of the hospitals evaluated received the designation.
Hospitals recognized as “Best Hospitals for Maternity Care” had, on average, 44 percent lower rates of severe unexpected newborn complications, 22 percent lower cesarean section rates, and 47 percent more likely to achieve “baby-friendly” recognition for breastfeeding support.
“It is a significant honor for Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, where over 3,000 babies are born annually, to be recognized as a high-performing hospital for maternity care,” said Jamie Yoo, CEO of CHA HPMC.
CHA HPMC was also named a high-performing institution in seven other categories, including care for heart attack, heart failure, hip fracture, kidney failure, pneumonia, and stroke.
Acquired by CHA Health Systems in 2004, CHA HPMC operates as a private general hospital in Los Angeles, with 434 beds, including 89 nursing care beds, and a team of over 550 physicians and healthcare professionals. It is part of CHA Health Systems’ global network of 96 healthcare institutions across seven countries and is the first Korean-owned and operated general hospital in the U.S.
