Cosmax posted record quarterly sales of 588.6 billion won and an operating profit of 51.3 billion won in the first quarter of 2025, up 11.7 percent and 13 percent year-on-year, respectively. The earnings solidified its position as the world’s largest cosmetics ODM, backed by solid growth in Korea and Southeast Asia, the company said.

The Korean subsidiary posted a double-digit increase in sales of 362.8 billion won and operating profit of 34.3 billion won, driven by the growth of indie brands at home and abroad. Overall growth was achieved in the basic products such as gel masks and essences with highly functional regenerative ingredients, as well as color and sun care.

The Indonesian subsidiary posted sales of 29.6 billion won and the Thai subsidiary turned profitable with sales of 23.9 billion won, up 152.1 percent, due to increased sales of sun care and cleansing products. In both regions, the company plans to expand its markets by building new factories.

The Chinese subsidiary grew 3.4 percent to 162.7 billion won in sales, while the U.S. subsidiary saw a decline in sales to 28.7 billion won, but is expected to rebound in the second half of the year, Cosmax said.

The company expanded its domestic production capacity to more than 1 billion units, up 30 percent year-on-year, by expanding production lines, and plans to increase its global production capacity to 3.3 billion units.

“We will support our customers' growth through innovative products and strengthen our position as the world's No. 1 cosmetics ODM company,” said a company official.
