Digital dentistry is an emerging sector that applies technologies such as 3D scanning, CAD/CAM systems, and 3D printing to enhance the precision and efficiency of dental treatments. The demand for custom abutments is steadily growing, driven by advances in titanium and zirconia-based prosthetic technologies. As a result, companies that can combine digital design capabilities with precision manufacturing are gaining a competitive edge globally.

The signing ceremony, held at CG MedTech’s headquarters, formalized the company’s entry into the patient-specific dental prosthetics market and marked a significant step toward establishing a full-cycle digital prosthetic manufacturing platform.

With the acquisition of All Abutment, CG MedTech plans to build an integrated digital workflow encompassing design, precision machining, quality assurance, and distribution.

All Abutment is known for its expertise in fabricating high-precision, patient-specific abutments that are tailored to the anatomical structure of individual patients.

The company uses computer numerical control (CNC)-based high-precision milling technologies and operates a digital manufacturing process driven by intra-oral scanner data.

“This acquisition is a pivotal move in CG MedTech’s strategy to consolidate its capabilities across the entire digital dentistry value chain,” the company said. “Following the March merger of its R&D subsidiary GDS, which had proprietary digital implant technologies, CG MedTech has now secured in-house production capabilities to offer customized prosthetics designed and manufactured under one roof.”

CG MedTech CEO Yu Hyun-seung also said, “Digital dentistry is transforming the global dental landscape by significantly enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of treatments through intra-oral scanning, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing technologies.”

Through this acquisition, CG MedTech is building a complete and competitive platform for digital prosthetics -- from design and machining to quality control and distribution, Yu added.
