Korean Hospital Association to host Korea-Africa Healthcare Summit
The Korean Hospital Association (KHA) said Monday it would host the Korea-Africa Healthcare Summit at 4 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Conference Room No. 300 in COEX, southern Seoul.
This event is part of the 2025 K-Hospital & Digital Healthcare Exhibition (KHF 2025) held annually by the KHA.
The summit aims to strengthen healthcare cooperation between Korea and Africa. It will be an opportunity for healthcare leaders, policymakers, and medical institution officials to discuss sustainable healthcare partnerships.
With the main theme of “Expanding Healthcare Frontiers and New Opportunities for Cooperation,” the summit will feature the following sessions: Current Status and Challenges of Healthcare in Africa (Egyptian Minister of Health); Current Status and Future Prospects of Economic Cooperation in Africa(Kim Myung-hee, Vice President of KOTRA); Trends in the African Medical Industry and Cooperation Strategies (Lim Young-yi, Director of the Medical Overseas Expansion Team at the Korea Health Industry Development Institute; Development of Next-Generation Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Radiology and Its Clinical Applications (Yoo Jae-won, Deputy Director of United Imaging Healthcare Korea); and Current Status and Challenges in Africa (Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Korea).
“The Korea-Africa Healthcare Summit will serve as an important opportunity to share Korea’s advanced medical experience and contribute to the development of global healthcare through mutually complementary cooperation with African countries,” KHA President Lee Seong-gyu said. “We hope this event will lay the foundation for future-oriented partnerships.”
Participants in the summit include the hospital associations of major African countries, healthcare organizations, African embassies in Korea, hospitals, related organizations, and medical device companies.
