Dongkook Lifescience is moving beyond its core contrast agent business with a new strategic distribution deal that puts Canon imaging systems under its umbrella in Korea.

The company said Thursday it signed a partnership with Canon Medical Systems Korea that makes Dongkook the official local partner for Canon’s MRI, CT and ultrasound scanners, covering sales, installation, technical support and maintenance for hospitals nationwide.

Canon Medical Systems Korea, a unit of the Japanese imaging player, has been rolling out AI-based image reconstruction, low-dose scanning and microvascular flow technologies, including its upgraded Aplio i-series “Prism Edition” ultrasound platform, which adds an SMI Angio mode for more precise visualization and measurement of tiny blood vessels.

Dongkook said it will use its long-running sales network in contrast media and imaging equipment to push broader adoption of Canon systems in the domestic market, positioning the partnership as part of its move toward AI-enabled precision medicine.
