Severance Hospital has developed a Covid-19 vaccination dashboard and begun its operation, as part of its data-based hospital project supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The dashboard demonstrates the vaccination data of two Severance hospitals in Seoul. It will also apply to Yongin Severance Hospital in Gyeonggi Province from the second round of vaccination.

The integrated dashboard can check the status of Covid-19 vaccinations in real-time, including vaccinated people, vaccination rates, and accumulated vaccination records. Besides, it also shows types of vaccines, such as AstraZeneca and Pfizer, the number of vaccinated and non-vaccinated by the vaccine, and those who have yet to make a reservation for injection.

Besides, the system shows the vaccination status of medical workers, doctors and nurses. The data is used as basic information to establish a strategy for the hospital’s important decision-making during the pandemic.

When a Covid-19 case occurs in the hospital, the data can be used as epidemiological investigation data. A quick response is possible through the map-based system that can figure out contact tracing and track close contacts to prevent further spreading.

Severance Hospital plans to use the dashboard as big data for developing prevention guidelines and a policymaking tool to improve its responding ability.

“The vaccination of medical workers who are in close contact with patients is important for the staff and the patients. We expect that the Covid-19 vaccination dashboard to provide real-time insight into vaccination status and be utilized in future responses to respiratory infections,” said Kim Kyoung-won, deputy head of the Big Data Center at Yonsei University Health System.
