KMA President Lee Pil-soo (left) and Pfizer Korea Country Manager Oh Dong-wook vowed to cooperate to relieve the Covid-19 vaccine shortages in Korea at a meeting in Seoul, Wednesday.

“As we are facing the fourth wave of Covid-19 outbreak with daily cases exceeding 500 every day, the KMA wishes to make efforts in the private sector to relieve the shortage of Covid-19 vaccines,” Lee said, requesting for Pfizer Korea’s active cooperation.

As vaccines are the most effective tool to end Covid-19, Lee was willing to visit the headquarters of Pfizer in the U.S. if it could help Korea get more Pfizer vaccines, he said.

“If the vaccine supply gets smooth with the efforts in the public sector, the vaccination rate will go up, and the normalcy will return more quickly,” Lee went on to say, vowing that the KMA will strive to protect the Korean people’s health.

In response, Oh said he would do his best to ensure a more sufficient supply of Pfizer vaccines in Korea.

“Let the KMA and Pfizer Korea cooperate until Covid-19 ends with the herd immunity,” he added.
