Huons BioPharma is about to sign a contract with a new partner to market its botulinum toxin product, Hutox, in the European market.

Huons BioPharma, a subsidiary of Huons Global, said Tuesday that the contract signing with its German partner, known only as H, has gone into a countdown.

According to Huons BioPharma, the German partner is a healthcare company that has shown distinguishing performances not just in aesthetics but in the nervous system, cardiovascular system, tumor, and rheumatism.

The company operates dozens of aesthetics clinics in Germany and Austria, demonstrating expertise in aesthetics. It also runs an in-house regulatory affairs (RA) organization handling drug registration, boasting rich experiences in conducting clinical trials and obtaining approvals. 

Huons BioPharma explained that its contract with the new German partner seeks a more extensive partnership than its previous partner, Spain’s Sesderma.

“Our new partner covers the areas of both aesthetics and treatment, and its target markets have increased from 27 EU members to 29 European countries by adding the U.K. and Switzerland,” a company official said. “The scale of the contract will also far exceed the past one.”

Huons BioPharma plans to finish the contract signing this month and speed up procedures for conducting local trials and winning approvals.

The Huons Group signed a contract with Sesderma in 2018 to advance to the European market. However, the Spanish company postponed the project citing the Covid-19 pandemic and other reasons, forcing the Korean company to seek a new partner.
