LG Chem has enhanced the product lineup of human growth hormone injection Eutropin Pen.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety granted the permit for Eutropin S Pen Inj. (ingredient: somatropin, recombinant human growth hormone) for the treatment of pediatric growth failure.

Eutropin S Pen Inj. strengthened the safety of storage and user convenience of the existing product, Eutropin Pen Inj.

After releasing Eutropin in 1993, LG Chem diversified the dose and form of the injection to Eutropin Pen and Eutropin Plus Inj.

According to LG Chem, Eutropin S Pen has 24 months of shelf life, six months longer than Eutropin Pen’s 18 months.

With a longer shelf life, the new product has higher stability for supply, LG Chem said. The new injection can also tell how much solution is left in the cartridge.

“The new injection improved the self-administration button and applied an anti-roll design, which makes it easier to use,” an official at LG Chem said.

After winning approval for Eutropin S Pen, LG Chem is to negotiate the price to release it in the market.

“We are preparing for the market launch. Next year, the official said, we expect to begin the business for Eutropin S Inj.” the official said.LG Chem rolled out Eutropin Pen Smart Case last month. For higher convenience, the device automatically sends the dose, the administration site, and self-administration information to a mobile application, EuDi.
