Seegene will begin its "In-Life PCR" tests in Vietnam in collaboration with LabHouse, a local testing agency, and Grab, a vehicle sharing company, in August to respond to the global resurgence of Covid-19.

The In-Life PCR is a global campaign initiated by Seegene to quickly identify infected people, such as asymptomatic patients, in group gatherings at companies, schools, and nursing homes, to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Seegene will provide LabHouse with its Allplex SARS-CoV-2/FluA/FluB/RSV Assay, which simultaneously identifies four types of viruses -- Covid-19, influenza A and B, and respiratory syncytial viruses. The company will also support large-scale diagnostic equipment based on its All in One System (AIOS) to respond to increased demand for In-Life PCR tests.

LabHouse will be responsible for collecting samples collection, conducting PCR tests, and notifying results to Grab drivers. Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam's two largest cities, will be the initial targets for the launch.

Grab, the largest ride-sharing service in Southeast Asia, will encourage its drivers to use the In-Life PCR tests. It will advertise In-Life PCR tests on its SNS, and drivers who possess negative test results will have the message, "Covid-19, Influenza A, Influenza B, and RSV negative confirmation by PCR," displayed on the service’s app.

Seegene’s strategy is to enable passengers to choose drivers with greater confidence so that inspected drivers will have more transportation opportunities, thus encouraging drivers to test themselves regularly, the company said.

"We will conduct In-life PCR tests with Seegene to preemptively respond to the resurgence of Covid-19," LabHouse CEO Nguyen Khoi Do said, “We hope that regular inspections will help Grab's drivers, passengers, and all Vietnamese lead healthy daily lives."
