The company has published the four themes and 10-related major trends that spawn from the four themes, which it believes will likely drive medical aesthetics practice in the coming five years, through its recent "The Future of Aesthetics" global trends report.

The report, commissioned by Allergan Aesthetics and independently developed by Wunderman Thompson Intelligence, conducted extensive research and analysis across consumer and business media, social listening data, and market research around the globe.

The report also went through a validation process through one-on-one interviews with 15 leading aesthetics practitioners from 13 trend-led countries. The report provides a unique view of what is to come in the future aesthetics industry.

The company also published a summary of the report, rich with infographics, in Korean for better local understanding.

As a global leader in medical aesthetics treatments, Allergan Aesthetics aims to support practitioners and the industry to prepare for the future and evolving needs of patients, their expectations, and advancements in aesthetic medicine.

According to the company, the consumer interest in medical aesthetics continues to rise, with the number of non-surgical aesthetic procedures conducted worldwide growing by almost two million between 2017 and 2020.

Allergan stressed that it expects such growth to continue, with 23 million dermal fillers and 14.6 million body procedures predicted by 2025, with physicians globally seeing more younger patients, more patients from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds, and more male patients than ever before.

Allergan believes that gaining insight into the four themes and 10 major trends through its recent report may help clinicians future-proof their practices and prepare for evolving patient types.

"Medical aesthetics, just as beauty and fashion sectors, is continually transformed by society views such as consumer's preference and behavioral change, and impacts us every day," Allergan Aesthetics Korea General Manager Kim Sook-hyun said. "By presenting its thought leadership through publishing global trends report on the future of aesthetics, we aspire to support more effective communication between healthcare practitioners and their patients."

This is the path essential for meeting their fast-evolving needs, while the industry can prepare for the future through innovation, Kim added.
