Fujifilm plans to supply high-quality cell culture media for bioproduction and cell- and gene-based advanced therapeutics through Fujifilm Life Science Korea.

The local branch will also provide customized culture media that meet the needs of Korean customers by communicating directly with them.

According to Fujifilm, the company is currently expanding its cell culture medium business with its subsidiaries FUJIFILM Wako Pure Chemical Corp. and FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Inc.

Through the two subsidiaries, the company supplies superior quality products based on its global sales network, R&D, quality assurance capabilities, and manufacturing facilities certified by current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) in Japan, the U.S., and Europe, the company said.

“The establishment of a Korean corporation is an important step in expanding our business in the rapidly growing Korean market,” Fujifilm Life Science General Manager Yutaka Yamaguchi said. “As a partner in the bioindustry, Fujifilm intends to contribute to human health and medical development by supporting customers' R&D and manufacturing.”
