Baxter Korea said on Tuesday that it appointed Im Kwang-hyuk, former senior director of Baxter Korea’s Renal and Acute Business unit, as its new general manager, starting Oct. 1.

Im joined Baxter’s Renal and Acute Business unit in 2018 and was in charge of peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. He was promoted to senior director in 2019 by expanding his role to the Commercial Excellence (CE) division. Subsequently, he contributed to the continued growth of Baxter Korea by successfully launching major products of Baxter's Renal and Acute business unit and leading various strategic initiatives.

Im comes with a broad range of expertise in the healthcare industry with marketing and management strategy experience at major global pharmaceutical companies such as MSD Korea and BMS Pharmaceutical Korea.

Previously, Im joined MSD Korea in 2000 and was in charge of sales and marketing of ophthalmic and central nervous system (CNS) treatments, and later served as the business unit director of the Diversified Brands Business. Additionally, he was the business unit director and commercial operations director for the Oncology and Specialty Care Business Unit at BMS Pharmaceutical Korea. Prior to this, he also served as the general manager of MSD Korea Animal Health for four years from 2014, successfully launching major new products and growing the business.

Baxter Korea said Im is expected to drive the company’s growth with his excellent leadership and proven track record at the company’s Renal and Acute Business division.
