CHICAGO, Ill. -- By Lee Han-soo/Korea Biomedical correspondent -- The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2022 opened the world's largest radiological conference in Chicago, Ill, the U.S., on Sunday.
Compared to last year, the convention was packed with participants and exhibitors as most Covid-19 regulations worldwide had been lifted.
According to the organizers, the exhibition will be participated by 647 in-person technical exhibits occupying 365,500 square feet and 34,385 on-site and virtual participants, including 19,485 healthcare professionals.
Due to the relaxed Covid-19 measures, the organizers said that the convention has seen 119 first-time exhibitors participate in the conference.
Notably, Korea boasted its presence in the international conference scene, with over 20 Korean medical device companies participating in the show.
Multinational medical device companies also showed off massive-scale booths during the RSNA 2022.
Korea Biomedical Review captured some of the scenes and booths of multinational pharmaceutical and Korean companies exhibiting at the RSNA 2022 meeting. RSNA 2022 is open from Sunday to next Thursday, at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Ill.
The highlight of the technology exhibition was the AI Showcase zone. About 120 companies gathered at the zone. Notably, there were a lot of Korean companies showing off their latest AI-based video technology.
Other Korean companies such as AIRS Medical, Neurophet, ClariPi, Coreline Soft, Promedius, and Monitor Corporation were also located throughout the AI showcase zone and attracted attention from visitors.
While Korean companies showed a large presence in the AI Showcase zone, multinational medical device companies' booths showed the massive scale of RSNA 2022 and new technology in the field.
The convention also had a lot to offer in terms of telemedicine. In particular, large mobile trailers equipped with the latest imaging medical devices caught the attention of exhibitors.
Aside from the technology exhibition, RSNA 2022 also set up a learning center where radiologists could come and gain the latest insight in the radiology field. The center was home to thousands of educational exhibits, scientific digital posters, and quality improvement report posters covering a range of subspecialties.
The convention also provided a variety of programs aimed to help relax or increase the excitement for participants and exhibitors. Such programs included a 3D art display of the RSNA logo, a Zen Zone, 5K Fun Run, RSNA After Dark, and a childcare service.
