K-Doc, a group of physicians promoting Korean medicine in foreign countries, said its consortium with Krismas Plastic Surgery and Medibloc won the government’s 2023 project that helps Korean medicine enter the global market.

The 2023 project is supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.

Specifically, the consortium will build a Korean-type plastic surgery/dentistry cosmetic center in the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on Bali lsland, Indonesia, K-Doc said.

Indonesia is the only G20 country in Southeast Asia with rapid economic growth potential.

The Indonesian government is pushing to make the Sanur SEZ to attract medical and wellness tourism.

The zone received heated attention when Indonesia said it would work with the Mayo Clinic to build an international hospital on Bali island.

The Sanur SEZ is expected to recognize a foreign doctor’s medical license, K-Doc said.

K-Doc Vice President Kang Byeong-il expected that the Korean plastic surgery/dentistry center would help expand exports of Korean medical IT services, pharma products, medical devices, and cosmetics.
