Samsung Electronics and Samsung Medison said they would unveil up-to-date medical devices and artificial intelligence-based diagnostic aid functions by participating in the 38th Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) at COEX, southern Seoul, from Thursday to Sunday.

Samsung Medison, the Samsung Group’s ultrasonic device unit, will exhibit its entire lineup of ultrasonic devices used in obstetrics-gynecology, radiology, internal medicine, and orthopedics departments.

It also will present a digital X-ray device with sharply strengthened convenience equipped with an up-to-second camera and AI technology.

In the “Ultrasonic Zone” of its pavilion, the company will display its premium ultrasonic diagnosis device, “HERA E10 V8, and its upgraded version V7 while introducing AI-assisted diagnostic functions.

Also making its debut at the KIMES is miniER7, a tiny probe that relieves patient pain during prostate ultrasonography.

In the “X-ray Zone,” the company will present “AccE GC85A,” a fixed-type X-ray device that sets X-ray conditions for the patient’s body type and has the “Vision Assist” function that can precisely adjust when the patient is out of the shooting position. It also displays “AccE GM85, a mobile X-ray device that can be fully recharged in three or four hours and shoot for about 10 hours without additional recharge.

Samsung will push ahead with its technological innovation so that AI-assisted diagnostic functions can help medical workers and patients conduct efficient and precise diagnoses while maintaining its environment-friendly management,” said Yu Kyu-tae, Samsung Medison Vice President for strategy and marketing, who also serves as Samsung Electronics’ strategic marketing head for medical devices.
