Siemens Healthineers Korea unveiled its integrated biochemical and immunoassay solution, Atellica CI 1900 Analyzer, for the first time in Korea during the Korean Society for Laboratory Medicine's 2023 Spring Symposium, held at BEXCO, Busan, from last Thursday to Friday.

Atellica CI 1900 Analyzer received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in March.

The device is an integrated biochemical and immunoassay testing solution that can be operated independently. It has a throughput capacity of up to 1,120 tests -- 1,000 biochemical tests and 120 immunoassays -- per hour.

Using the same standard platform as the existing Atellica Solution, the Atellica CI 1900 Analyzer uses Microvolume Technology to amplify test output with a single sample aspiration, and Integrated Multi-sensor Technology (IMT) to measure electrolytes in serum, plasma, and urine samples.

The device also supports rapid emergency specimen processing in less than one minute, and reagents and consumables can be changed without interrupting testing, further increasing productivity.

In addition, the operating software improves efficiency, enabling integrated management of all data and patient, calibration, and quality control results within each instrument's individual management system, which can be customized to suit the user.

Also, the device has a compact size of 1.9 m2, allowing for excellent space utilization in the laboratory.

"We are very pleased to be able to introduce our cutting-edge new products and technologies and share our knowledge at this conference, which fosters active academic exchange between academia and industry on the latest developments and key trends in diagnostic testing in the ever-changing healthcare environment," Siemens Healthineers Korea's Vice President Zone Lead of Diagnostics Han Hee-chul said.

The company hopes that the new product will improve the accuracy and efficiency of diagnostic tests, and it will continue to lead the development of diagnostic tests based on its innovative technologies, Han added.
