The contract comes after the company had signed a previous agreement with Severance Hospital in 2020 to establish a skin diagnosis AI database.

Based on the skin data, the two parties have been jointly studying AI analysis technology for 15 chronic skin diseases such as atopy, psoriasis, and vitiligo.

For some of the diseases, Lululab said that the technology has been advanced near commercialization.

The company said that the AI center will showcase its hospital-optimized AI solutions to international clients, who account for more than 90 percent of its customer base.

Lululab will install its AI equipment in the center to conduct in-depth research on various skin diseases such as scars, atopy, and acne and continue various joint academic activities on the development of AI skin disease solutions.

The company will also operate a self-developed medical AI CRM (customer relationship management) system through the center.

Based on AI skin analysis algorithms, Lululab has implemented a CRM system that automatically databases skin analysis results and procedure information in an optimized state and links it to scar and skin aesthetic medical devices such as lasers.

"Our AI CRM system will be a tool to promote the excellence of our company's software as a solution optimized for the hospital environment, from actual patient care to clinical research," Lululab CEO Choe Yong-joon said. "After successfully operating the system, we plan to expand it to other general hospitals in the future."
