Ildong Bioscience officials hold a business meeting with buyers at its booth in the Korean Pavilion area during Vitafoods Europe 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland, held from May 9 to 11.

Ildong Bioscience said Monday that it participated in Vitafoods Europe 2023 and advertised probiotics-related materials, products, and technology.

Vitafoods Europe is the continent’s largest exhibition of healthcare foods, beverages, and functional foods. This year’s event was held in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 9 to 11 (local time).

Ildong Science set up its booth in the Korean Pavilion area and introduced its probiotics ingredients, functional food materials, and source technology, including the quadruple coating technique.

The company said it held various business meetings with businesses and executives from various countries. It added that its 20 new food ingredients that had won the “GRAS” (generally recognized as safe) certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration received positive responses.

“Aside from GRAS, we are strengthening competitiveness by meeting requirements befitting individual markets by, for instance, registering with Canada’s NHP (National Health Product) and winning certification as halal and kosher products,” a company official said. “Our plan to advance to overseas markets in earnest based on differentiated materials, ingredients, and customized strategies.”

Ildong Bioscience is a unit of Ildong Holdings established in 2016 based on the original technology and infrastructure related to the pharmaceutical group’s lactic acid bacteria products.

The company supplies probiotics materials and products to various companies in Korea and abroad armed with many functional materials, including individually recognized raw materials developed independently and a four-layered coating patent method that increases stability.
