The Korea Marketing Association conducts the Digital Customer Satisfaction Survey annually to evaluate the digital management competitiveness of companies and organizations.

The evaluation encompasses quantitative indicators, including social media channel metrics such as the number of posts and followers, alongside qualitative indicators like comments, reactions, likes, and shares on posts.

The survey was conducted from August to October last year, with 304 organizations in 92 industries, evaluating their social media channels.

YUHS received a score of 781 in the general hospital category for its social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram, blog, Facebook, and YouTube, which surpasses the average total score of 748 for the top five general hospitals.

To strengthen its social media capabilities, YUHS established a dedicated social media department within the public relations team, in 2021. The department has established various social media channels to provide information for patients and their caregivers, including the latest health information and hospital news. It also communicates on various topics such as Korean medical history, the history of Severance Hospital, and foreign medical missionaries.

Recently, the hospital has been trying to communicate through new content platforms such as shorts, reels, and short toons consisting of short videos and cartoons to increase the interest of users.

As of April 2023, YUHS had about 7,000 blog subscribers and about 8,000 Instagram followers. It has nearly 30,000 followers on Twitter. On Facebook, the organization is close to reaching 40,000 followers. The YouTube channel, which received an A rating, is the first in the country to surpass 300,000 subscribers and has accumulated 75 million views.

"We will continue striving to manage our social media channels to effectively deliver the latest medical news and correct health information to not only hospital users but also the general public," said Yoon Dong-sup, president and CEO of YUHS.
