CJ Bioscience said on Friday that it plans to introduce its microbiome analysis platform EzBiome Bioinformatics App (EzBiome) next year.

Since July, the company has been conducting a pilot service of EzBiome by opening some functions to bio-industry officials and university professors.

On Wednesday, the company completed a workshop on utilizing microbiome data with EzBiome at CJ Bioscience's headquarters in Seoul.

EzBiome comes in the form of software-as-a-service (SaaS). It improves upon CJ Bioscience's current platform, EzBioCloud, and has been enhanced for clinical and infectious disease diagnosis applications. The microbiome database has also been upgraded and the processing speed has been increased to analyze large amounts of data in a short time from anywhere in the world.

In particular, it can be used to increase the accuracy and speed of research by generating desired analysis results according to the customer's research interest.

CJ Bioscience said that it is also considering using AI to analyze microbiome genomes when it launches the full service. The company plans to generate new revenue by leading the global microbial data analysis market.

"The market is expected to continue to grow as the spread of genome analysis services in hospitals is expanding and the demand is increasing in the field of clinical and infectious disease diagnosis,” said an official from CJ Bioscience.  "We plan to provide a higher level of premium services based on the world's best microbiome data analysis technology."
