Samsung Medison will showcase its AI-based diagnostic aids at the 33rd annual congress of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ISUOG 2023), at COEX, southern Seoul, from Oct. 17 to 19.

ISUOG, one of the most important societies in the ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology, organizes annual congresses around the world to share the latest technology and research results in the field. This year's event, held for the first time in Seoul, will draw about 2,000 obstetricians and gynecologists from 126 countries.

As the main sponsor of the event, Samsung Medison will unveil its premium ultrasound diagnostic devices, HERA W10 Elite (model name HERA W10), and V8, as well as its AI technology through diagnostic solution demonstrations and symposiums.

According to Samsung Medison, HERA W10 Elite is a premium ultrasound diagnostic device equipped with a 27-inch OLED monitor with less brightness variation depending on the viewing angle compared to conventional LCD monitors and a probe that provides excellent resolution. In particular, the high-contrast ultrasound images can be viewed from a variety of angles without compromising image quality.

The company will also introduce its AI diagnostic assistant solutions. For instance, HeartAssist automatically categorizes and provides results for fetal heart diagnosis by pressing the measurement button, and UterineAssist automatically measures the size and shape of the uterus to help diagnose uterine conditions.

In addition, Samsung Medison will also highlight AI-based automatic measurement functions, such as BiometryAssist™ and ViewAssist™, which measure and automatically annotate fetal growth indicators by extending the items previously measured only in the second trimester (14 to 27 weeks) to the first trimester (one to 13 weeks) by the newly revised ISUOG guidelines in February this year.

"Using BiometryAssist, fetal weight can be measured at a professional level 48 hours before delivery and the measurement time can be dramatically reduced," said Professor Mar Gil from Torrejón University Hospital in Spain in his abstract.

At the conference, Samsung Medison will also introduce an upgraded version of “5D CNS (Central Nervous System)+,” a convenient feature for fetal brain examination.

Other exhibits include SonoSync, a feature specialized for remote consulting and training, and S-Hub, an IT solution for hospital resource management.

The congress, which will be held for the first time in Korea, is also the first offline event since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic. Samsung Medison participates as the main sponsor and sponsors various academic activities, including the ISUOG-Samsung Webinar and Pre-Congress.
