The new product combines 3D and 4K imaging, offering various features to enhance minimally invasive procedures like laparoscopic colectomy and laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It finds application in multiple medical specialties, including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and ENT surgery.

VISERA ELITE III features high-resolution imaging with a 3D and 4K UHD display device and incorporates observation modes for improved endoscopic surgery visibility and efficiency. Notably, it includes an infrared imaging (IR) feature using infrared light to assess lesion extent or locate sentinel lymph nodes.

The system boasts three observation modes. In 4K clarity, the image clarity can be adjusted for lesion observation. The newly introduced Yellow Enhance (YE) mode enhances visibility by highlighting fatty tissue in a deep yellow color, aiding in distinguishing nerves, blood vessels, ureters, and pleura within fatty tissue. Additionally, it offers Narrow Band Imaging (NBI), developed exclusively by Olympus, to visualize tiny blood vessels and mucous membrane patterns.

VISERA ELITE III also aids surgeons with its Continuous Auto Focus (CAF) feature, automatically adjusting focus during surgery, ensuring objects remain in 4K quality focus at varying distances. This enables surgeons to concentrate on the operation without the need for constant refocusing.

One notable aspect is the cost-effectiveness of VISERA ELITE III, which allows for software updates, adding new features as they become available.

The camera head for 4K images is smaller and lighter than previous versions, with an ergonomic design that facilitates one-handed operation and compatibility with most existing endoscopic scopes.

Meanwhile, Olympus Korea launched its latest endoscopy system, EVIS X1, in October. EVIS X1 is a system equipped with various technologies that allow doctors to more accurately examine and diagnose digestive and bronchial diseases in the stomach, colon, and esophagus through an endoscope.
