The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) announced that it hosted the Medical Korea 2023 event last Tuesday at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE, under the theme of "Digital and AI in the Healthcare Industry."

KHIDI said about 450 industry experts attended the event, which was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE, and the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH). 

At the medical conference, Yim Yeong-yi, Director of the Department of Healthcare Service Innovation at KHIDI, presented the current status of Korea's digital healthcare policy and cases.

In the following keynote speech, Jheon Sang-hoon, Professor of the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, gave a presentation on the healthcare metaverse in the future, introducing healthcare services using digital health technologies in Korea.

The business partnership session consisted of the introduction of cutting-edge digital and AI medical technologies of Korean healthcare companies and institutions such as ezCaretech and Samsung Medical Center.

At the one-on-one consultation session, 65 business consultations were held, which were attended by influential local government agencies and company officials.

"Korea and the UAE have been cooperating closely in the field of healthcare, and we are expanding our cooperation to the field of digital healthcare through this event,” an official at KHIDI said.

“We will actively support Korean companies and medical institutions to achieve tangible results in the UAE market."
