Asan Medical Center (AMC) said Friday it has signed a business agreement with Lotte Hotel to raise the global profile of Korean healthcare.
Through the agreement, the two sides will work closely together to secure global competitiveness in healthcare services, provide world-class medical services to foreign patients, and strengthen global brand capabilities through content co-production, the hospital said.
The signing ceremony was attended by Park Seung-il, president of AMC, Park Soo-seong, head of planning and coordination, and Lim Jong-jin, deputy director of management. Representing Lotte Hotel were CEO Kim Tae-hong and Kim Sang-min, head of Korean Hotel Headquarters.
Through this agreement, Asan Medical Center plans to develop customized health information content for foreign patients and provide pre-consultation and aftercare services for foreign patients in collaboration with Lotte Hotel's overseas businesses.
AMC is one of the leaders in treating cancer, organ transplantation, and heart. It treats more than 20,000 foreign patients from more than 100 countries, including the U.S., the UAE, and Mongolia, every year.
AMC is constantly trying new things to make life easier for foreign patients, the hospital said. It is the first hospital in Korea to introduce a concierge service (out-of-hospital service) to help patients reduce the psychological burden of administrative processes, such as accommodation reservations, and focus on their treatment, it added.
"We will provide global medical services that combine the medical experience and know-how of Asan Medical Center and the global culture and tourism business experience of Lotte Hotel to strengthen the global brand of Korean healthcare," President Park said.
