Ajou University Hospital said Tuesday that Professor Jang Seok-jun of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was recently elected the next president of the Asian Society for Gynecologic Oncology (ASGO) at its eighth congress in Taiwan.

Professor Jang will serve a two-year term from December 2025 to November 2027.

The ASGO was founded in 2009 by Asian gynecologic oncologists from Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia to study gynecologic tumors in Asian women. It actively engages in academic exchange and education by holding conferences every two years.

Professor Jang is an authority on ovarian cancer surgery and serves as an executive board member of ASGO. He has led the development of the society as its secretary general and treasurer.
