The Going Home Project is an orchestra that brings together musicians of Korean descent worldwide and those who consider Korea their second home. Comprising over 80 musicians from 50 orchestras across 14 countries, it held its inaugural concert in 2022.

In this surprise concert, the Going Home Project trio, consisting of pianist Son Yeol-eum, violinist Svetlin Roussev, and cellist Moon Woong-whee, took the stage.

Upon arriving at Severance Hospital, the trio surprised everyone with a performance in the lobby on the third floor. Playing the final movement of Beethoven's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Opus 1-1, patients and hospital staff paused to witness the vibrant performance.

Subsequently, the trio transitioned to the auditorium on the 6th floor of Severance Hospital, presenting Beethoven's Cello Sonata No. 1, Op. 5-1, Rondo in G major, and the initial movement of Beethoven's Trio, Op. 1-1.

This performance marked the inauguration of the Going Home Project's "Complete Beethoven Chamber Music Series," set to run until 2027, the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death. The program included Beethoven's first cello sonata and initial trio works, embodying a significant tribute.

The audience was captivated by the flawless performance of the trio, featuring cellist Moon Woong-whee with his unmistakable, melodious tone, violinist Svetlin Roussev and his flamboyant yet graceful style, and pianist Son Yeol-eum, who danced on the keys.

"This is the first time that the Going Home Project has been on stage at a hospital," said pianist Son. "I hope that the concert we organized will be a time of hope for patients and staff."

One of the attendees among patients and staff said, "It was an honor to witness Son Yeol-eum and the Going Home Project's performance at Severance Hospital, an opportunity not easily found elsewhere. I believe their contribution will make our year-end warmer."
