In July, Itoxi signed a $2.7 million medical device supply deal with JKQ.

JKQ is a 200-bed hospital in Bayambang, located north of Manila in the Philippines, which began construction in February last year and is expected to be completed in March next year.

The hospital is funded by Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao, former mayor of Bayambang City, being built to provide international-level healthcare services to the residents of Bayambang City and the northern part of Luzon Island.

The first shipment included Hanshin Medical's autoclave, plasma sterilizer, and Daiwha Corp’s high-frequency electrosurgical unit. Subsequently, breast cancer diagnostic X-rays, surgical instrument sets, and medical consumables will be shipped until the hospital is completed.

This shipment is of great significance as it has established an overseas bridgehead for the K-Medical business through the hospital maintenance, repair, and operation (MRO) business, which exports Korea's excellent products to the Philippine medical device market.

"With this shipment, we have opened the door to explore the Philippine medical device market," said Alex Cheon, CEO of Itoxi. "We will actively promote the safety and excellence of Korean medical devices."

Meanwhile, the healthcare division of Itoxi has been continuously developing exports and overseas marketing of Korean medical devices since the construction and operation of the Covid-19 Testing Center at Incheon Airport.
