GW Vitek, a Kosdaq-listed antibody research company, said Thursday that it has signed a supply deal with UE Chemical, a non-toxic cleaning agents development company, to distribute Neutra Best, an antiviral cleaner for animal sheds, worldwide.
Neutra Best is characterized by utilizing cell-lysis technology, which is a natural non-ionic surfactant that instantly penetrates the virus and destroys the cell wall.
The companies expect the agreement to leverage the business capabilities of UE Chemical and the distribution competitiveness of GW Vitek.
GW Vitek aims to target countries with a large number of animal sheds, such as Vietnam, China, the Philippines, and Myanmar.
To this end, GW Vitek plans to secure major partners such as Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group in Thailand and New Hope Group in China, cooperating with various animal feed companies steadily growing in the Asian market.
Neutra Best, which GW Vitek has secured the rights to distribute, is a patented product, co-developed by a surfactant expert Park Jong-mok, a lead researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT).
According to GW Vitek, Neutra Best has been confirmed to kill 99.99 percent of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) viruses within a minute, and 99.99 percent of COVID-19 viruses within 30 seconds, even at concentrations as low as 0.05 percent. Safety for human health and the environment has also been verified by completing cytotoxicity, respiratory toxicity, skin irritation, biodegradability, heavy metal, and optical brightener tests.
As of July 2023, about 550 animal disinfectants were registered with the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, including oxidizers, acids, and aldehydes.
These disinfectants are used in many businesses, but due to the risk of corrosion of pens and skin irritation of animals, the use of disinfectants involves a cumbersome process of moving livestock out of the barns and reintroducing them after disinfection.
GW Vitek said, Neutra Best reduces the level of viruses by simply cleaning the animal sheds without moving livestock, keeping them safe from various viral diseases.
"Unlike many virus disinfectants in the market, Nutra Best will be able to improve the areas that have been difficult to utilize due to the toxicity," a GW Vitek official said. "We are looking forward to increasing sales in the green bio business through global distribution."
