Ildong Pharmaceutical said Wednesday that it has signed an eye drop co-promotion agreement with Hanlim Pharm to enter the OTC (over-the-counter) market in the ophthalmology sector.

The items to be co-promoted are three brands of over-the-counter eye drops -- Nazorin, Numaren, and Eyefeel -- which will be exclusively distributed and sold by Ildong Pharmaceutical in the domestic pharmacy market starting this month.

Nazorin Eye Drops (pheniramine maleate-naphazoline HCI) temporarily relieve eye irritation and redness.

Numaren Eye Drops (hypromellose-dextran) is an artificial tear used for dry eyes and lack of tear production. It is divided into two types depending on the product's dosage: single-dose and multi-dose. Single-dose packaging does not contain preservatives and can be used even when wearing lenses.

Eyefeel Eye Drops (aminocaproic acid-neostigmine methylsulfate- naphazoline HCI-chlorpheniramine maleate) is an ophthalmic solution that improves eye inflammation, fatigue, and redness.

Ildong plans to expand its presence in the ophthalmic category through collaboration with its partner, Hanlim Pharm.

"Based on our market research, we found that the number of consumers looking for ophthalmic solutions at pharmacies is steadily increasing due to the increasing use of IT devices, including computers and smartphones," said Kang Dae-seok, head of CHC-CM Group at Ildong Pharmaceutical. "We will continue to promote the importance of eye health with our products."
